2025 Projects
Sidewalk Reconstruction
2025 will see the return of the sidewalk reconstruction project. Hazardous sidewalks within the 2025 area will be either be replaced or have the trip hazard sawed off. Both options are utilized to provide the best use of budget dollars to maintain a safe walking corridor. Please view the 2025 project area map here. Please email us at streets@vokimberlywi.gov or call 920-788-7507 if you have a hazardous sidewalk to report.
RRFBs – Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons
At the end of 2024 rapid flashing beacons were installed at three intersections. Coming in 2025, the installation of three more beacons! The beacons that were installed on Kennedy Avenue will receive pedestrian bump-outs this summer in conjunction with the Kennedy Avenue diamond grind/panel replacement project. Beacons will also be installed at W. Kimberly Avenue and Railroad Street and at Maes Avenue and Papermill Run for the trail crossings.
Kennedy Ave from Railroad Street to the East
Another highly anticipated project will be a diamond grind, dowel bar retro fit and panel replacement of Kennedy Ave, from Railroad Street going east. First, a diamond grind of the entire roadway will be done followed by removal of cracked and defective panels. Once that is complete the remaining panels will be cut in a specific pattern to allow dowel bars to be installed at the joints. The diamond grind will smooth out the ride of the road and the dowel bars will prevent the panels from moving in the future and extend the life of this road for many more years.
Marcella Street Trail
The Village of Kimberly was awarded funding through the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. This multimodal trail connection will link existing infrastructure at Kennedy Avenue and Cobblestone Lane with a concrete trail along Kennedy Avenue all the way to Kimberly Avenue along Marcella Street. The project is scheduled to begin in April 2025 with a final completion of October 2025. We’ll post more updates here and on our Facebook page as construction nears. Project map located here.
A Public Information Meeting is scheduled for April 10th, 2025, 5:00 p.m. as a pre-construction meeting. The meeting agenda is posted here. The trail project is scheduled to begin April 21st.
A Public Information Meeting was held October 23rd, 2023, in open-house format, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the Village Hall Municipal Wing Evergreen Room, 515 W. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, WI 54136.

Reconstruction
There are no streets budgeted to be reconstructed this year. The Village plans out many years in advance by identifying roads and utilities, i.e. water and sewer, that need to be replaced due to age and defectiveness. The following is what is currently scheduled for the next few years. The year of construction is subject to change depending on the budget and infrastructure needs. Please click on the maps below for details on currently scheduled projects including Schindler Drive in 2026, Paul Drive in 2028, and Roger Street in 2029.
Please contact the Public Works Department if you have any questions about construction or the construction schedule.
