Beginning in 2026, the Village of Kimberly has contracted with Outagamie County Sherriff’s Department for police services. The police services contract with Outagamie County is not about duplicating efforts or increasing costs – it’s about maintaining the level of safety our community expects and deserves. The agreement stays fully within the Village of Kimberly’s adopted police services budget and ensures we have the staffing necessary to respond effectively and keep our neighborhoods secure.
As of September 1st, 2026, deputies patrol the Village of Kimberly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Village contract includes eight deputies, two sergeants/investigator and one lieutenant for dedicated service to Kimberly. As updates become available, and additional staff is brought on – information will be posted to this site.

My name is Brandon Ludwig, and I am originally from Chilton, WI. I have worked in law enforcement for a little over two and a half years. I worked with the Sheboygan Falls Police Department since the summer of 2023 and have recently started with the Outagamie County Sheriffs Office in October of 2025. I am looking forward to starting my career with the Sheriff’s Office with the new Kimberly Contract and am excited to get to know the community.
My name is Joseph “Kole” Svitak. I grew up in Central Wisconsin and moved to the Appleton area in 2020. Before settling here, I served 6.5 years on active duty as a Military Police Officer. After completing my service, I attended Fox Valley Technical College and graduated in 2022. I then spent about two years working patrol for a nearby agency before joining the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office in February of 2025, where I currently serve on patrol. Outside of work, I’m an avid Wisconsin sports fan and enjoy golfing, playing video games, and camping with family and friends. I truly look forward to meeting, working with, and getting to know the people of Kimberly. It’s an honor to serve this community with PRIDE.
My name is Kaden Oleson and I am originally from the small town of Amherst. Through my work with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, I am proud to serve and protect the Village of Kimberly. My path to this role was shaped by my time at the University of Sioux Falls, where I earned my degree while playing college football. The discipline, teamwork, and leadership I developed there continue to guide me in both my professional and personal life. When I am not working, I enjoy hunting and fishing. These activities have given me an appreciation for the outdoors, teaching me patience and hard work. I look forward to embracing the new opportunities in the Village of Kimberly and serving with P.R.I.D.E!
My name is Gabriel Kapanke. I am originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin and recently relocated to the area with my wife and two children. I have three years of law enforcement experience and previously served four years in the United States Marine Corps. I am excited to get to know the people of Kimberly, building lasting relationships, and serving the community with dedication and integrity. When I’m not at work, I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my family. I look forward to embracing the new opportunities in the Village of Kimberly and serving with P.R.I.D.E!
My name is Tyler Stephens and, as a fellow Papermaker (from Nekoosa), I’m excited to be patrolling Kimberly. I’ve spent just shy of 10 years in law enforcement including eight years with the City of Eau Claire Police Department. During my time in law enforcement, I’ve had numerous specialty assignments including SWAT, a Field Training Officer, and Instructor. I am currently a Vehicle Contacts Instructor and am excited for what the Sheriff’s Office has in store for me after moving to this side of the state. In my free time, I’m often out wrangling our two small children and two Golden Retrievers as I help them explore the world hiking, hunting, and their mission to visit every playground in the area. If you see me on the road, please feel free to waive me down, bring me any concerns, or just say “Hi.”
I’m Deputy Hufschmid, I grew up in the Fox Valley and attended Fox Valley Technical College for Criminal Justice and the Law Enforcement Academy. In my free time I enjoy fishing. I’m looking forward to serving the community of Kimberly with P.R.I.D.E.
