Street & Parks Facility Project
In 2022, the Village of Kimberly contracted with SEH to complete a facility analysis of the Street and Parks Department building located at 426 W. Kimberly Avenue. The results of this study indicated that the current building has exceeded it’s useful life. Significant repairs would be needed to maintain the building and bring the structure into code compliance. As a result, the village board voted in favor of designing and implementing a new facility.
In 2023, SEH was selected as the architectural firm for the design and construction management of a new Street and Parks Department Facility. Village staff, in coordination with SEH have been collaborating to design a new facility to be constructed within the same campus as the current building.
The initial building design was presented in a public meeting of the Village board in August, 2023. That presentation is located here.
Street and Parks customer service operations are temporarily relocated in the Municipal Complex at 515 W. Kimberly Avenue as of 12/4/23. Demolition and construction of the new facility began in 2024 with an estimated completion timeline of Summer 2025. The old building was demolished in fall of 2024 with excavation and footings in progress as of late 2024/early 2025. We expect to be operating from the new facility as of Fall 2025.
